Starting from the head of the valley in St. Magdalena, the trail climbs through woodland and along alpine tracks to the Uwaldalm at 2,042 metres. As you gain height, the views open up across the Gsies Valley and the surrounding mountains.
At the top, a traditional alpine hut with a sunny terrace and beautiful panorama awaits. Uwaldalm is also known for its South Tyrolean specialities – Kaiserschmarrn, dumplings or a traditional mountain snack are almost as much a part of this hike as the climb itself.
