From Lake Braies, the almost 1,000-metre north face of Seekofel rises dramatically above the water. From below, there is little hint of the landscape hidden beyond it. This demanding mountain hike climbs from the lake to Seekofel Hut and continues to the 2,810-metre summit.
As you gain altitude, the scenery changes completely: beyond the steep rock walls, the vast high plateaus of Fanes, Fosses and Sennes unfold. From the summit, the view stretches across this remarkable high-alpine landscape, while far below Lake Braies lies tucked between the mountains.
